(Kitsilano – W Broadway/Pine)

Christopher Cook, MA, RCC, CCC completed an MA in Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia, and a BFA in Theatre at Concordia University. He is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. His training includes working with youth who identify as LGBTQ+, and exploring the mental health benefits of creativity and art-making.

Chris draws on a range of therapeutic approaches, including Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness techniques, as he works with adult and teen clients facing a variety of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, destructive thought patterns or behaviours, and life transitions. As a queer-identifying therapist, Chris is passionate about working with clients of all ages who identify as members of LGBTQ+ communities.

Chris also works with couples in all sorts of relationship styles – married, dating, monogamous, open – facing challenges like commitment, disconnection, resentment, and uncertainty. Chris collaborates with couples to shift their relationship to one that aligns with their values as individuals in a partnership, strengthening their connection, and deepening their understanding of themselves and their loved one.

Chris is also a playwright, and when not in counselling room, he can often be found writing, at a yoga class, or cycling around the city.
