Sophie Killip, MEd, RCC, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and is originally from England, UK. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Georgia Southern University. Prior to moving to Vancouver last October, she worked at a residential and outpatient eating disorders treatment center for adults and adolescents. At present, she works at a residential home for adults experiencing anorexia and bulimia.
Sophie uses a person-centred and existential approach to counselling, as well as incorporating DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy) skills when appropriate. She primarily focuses on her client’s subjective experience and how this affects their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in relation to both their internal and external world. She aims to meet the client where they are at, and empowers them in emphasising their autonomy.
