Counselling Therapist

Anna MacGillivray

Anna is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Vancouver, BC with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and with additional training in Emotion Focused Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, somatic techniques, mindfulness, and yoga.

She works with youth and adults facing day to day difficulties, trauma, eating disorders, substance use, depression, suicidality, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and other concerns.

Anna’s approach to counselling is rooted in the idea that the body holds knowledge that cannot always be expressed through words. She firmly believes that change is possible through the integration of the body and mind and aims to work alongside clients to help them gain safety and comfort in their bodies, their relationships, and their lives. Incorporating emotion processing techniques, mindfulness, and body work, Anna is able to offer a holistic approach to therapy. She believes that all people have potential and deserve the opportunity to be seen and celebrated for who they are. When people feel valued and worthwhile, they can develop the capacity to move through difficult emotions knowing they aren’t alone. Anna’s hope is that clients leave interactions feeling seen, heard, and supported.
