Masters in counselling psychology from the Yorkville University.
I am a licensed teacher in both Ontario and British Columbia and consider myself to be a lifelong learner. Combined with my teaching background and masters training, I have a firm grasp for dealing with substance misuse, relationship issues, and post-secondary school options and career planning. I can help clients deal with life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, and family structure changes.
My approach is versatile and dynamic where I use a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other interventions as the client requires. Through my eclectic approach, I give my clients the tools counselling can provide which they can apply to their daily lives.
My passion revolves around helping youth and young adults find their direction in life. I have my masters in counselling psychology from the Yorkville University. My practicum took place at the Chilliwack Youth Health Center where I worked exclusively with students, youth, and young adults. I have a deep understanding of the challenges that face young people and am very sensitive to their specific needs. Further, I taught overseas for years which helped me to develop a multicultural perspective that serves me in counselling as well.
