Rebecca Chan

Rebecca Chan, MA, RCC, holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

Rebecca’s approach to counselling is trauma-informed and attachment-focused, harnessing the power of relational, experiential, and somatic-based interventions. In addition to recognizing the impacts of stress and trauma on the brain, body, and psyche, Rebecca acknowledges suffering as deriving from one’s struggle to make authentic, meaningful, and self-directed choices about how to live. It is through these lenses that Rebecca is committed to helping her clients gain clarity on the things holding them back and develop strategies for handling difficult feelings, while at the same time uncovering more of what brings them peace, vitality, and meaning.

Rebecca works with individuals facing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, grief and loss, relational challenges, existential concerns, self-worth, and feelings of guilt and shame. She is particularly passionate about helping women and men in embracing their vulnerability and inner strength to live authentic lives free from the constraints of societal expectations and self-judgment. Rebecca believes that healing and change come from supportive, authentic relationships where we feel safe to freely engage with our experiences; hence, she regards the therapeutic relationship as a profound agent of change. Her aim is to create a safe space where the individual feels fully welcomed to begin connecting with their most authentic self, thereby gaining more freedom in their life.
