Shannon is a Registered Clinical Counsellor located in Vancouver. She received her BA in Psychology from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where she grew up, before completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Adler University.
She has been in the mental health and helping field for over six years working with children, youth, young adults, families, and adult individuals. She believes that people deserve a place to feel seen, heard, and supported. In her sessions, she strives to provide a non-judgmental and open space where you can express yourself and explore your inner world in order to create change together.
She can help you address concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD (adult and youth), parenting, interpersonal and relationship challenges, grief and loss, trauma, and career exploration. She values ongoing learning and has received further training that allows her to use an approach tailored to you, including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Expressive Play Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
In her spare time, she finds balance for herself by getting out into nature, practising yoga, playing soccer and volleyball, snowboarding with her sisters (to survive the rainy West Coast winters), and playing with her puppy who she hopes will be able to work alongside her soon.
