Vicki McCabe, MCP, RCC holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Adler University and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC. She has also received additional training in Motivational Interviewing at the Justice Institute of BC.
Over more than a decade, Vicki has gained a diverse set of experience working with individuals and families in the areas of depression, anxiety, substance use, and parenting issues. She has also facilitated a number of psycho-educational groups in the community on these topics.
Having personally benefited from counseling after the birth of her child, Vicki has a passion for working with clients in the area of postpartum health. Vicki believes that distress and pain are opportunities to address current issues and to find new growth. Her goals in counseling are to provide a safe environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings free of judgement, to examine patterns that are no longer working, and to take steps toward improving their situation at a pace that clients feel ready to. Former clients have described Vicki’s therapeutic presence as calm, empathic, compassionate and strength-based.
