Practicum Counselling

Practicum Counselling

No Fear Counselling runs a full time practicum program offering low cost counselling/psychotherapy provided by students currently completing their Masters degree in counselling. In the program, they will see a minimum of 200 in person client hours over a span of 6-12 months (depending on the university and student).

As of April 2022, over 40 Masters of Counselling graduates have completed their practicum at No Fear Counselling.

The practicum students are supported by weekly individual supervision from therapists with at least 5 years of clinical post Masters experience. Additionally, they come in for weekly 2 hour group supervisions to discuss challenges in their roles and engage in professional development training.

There are currently (as of September 2022) 16 students in the practicum program, coming from a number of different schools: University of British Columbia (UBC), Adler University, Yorkville University, City University, Athabasca University, and Tyndale University.

The program is run by our Director, Ofir Vaisman and Corey Chan. Individual supervision is provided by Ofir, Corey and 9 other experienced therapists from No Fear that act as Primary Supervisors to the practicum students.

If you are interested in future practicum placement, please email ofir@nofearcounselling.com with your CV and the semester you are interested in. Please apply at least 6 months before the beginning of a new term. We generally interview in March for a September start time; in July for a January start; and in November for the May start time.
