David Mahadevan

David is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). He holds a Master of Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Vancouver, BC. He also holds an MBA from 2001 so is very familiar with the workings and stress of the corporate world.

He has volunteered at BC Covid-19 Mental Health Network as a counsellor, and also as a helpliner and counselling associate at a senior helpline. He did further specialized training in Existential Analysis with the Existential Analysis Society of Canada.

He is compassionate, collaborative and non-judgmental in helping clients progress and achieving their goals. He also believes in people finding balance in their lives and provides a safe and supportive environment to be themselves and having more positive and healthier lives. He is client-centred and focuses on clients’ strengths, and collaboratively seeks answers to questions clients have in their lives. He respects diversity and is trauma-informed in his practice, using an eclectic mix of individually tailored strategies for the therapy, incorporating among others, Person-Centered Therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Existential Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cross-cultural and Sex positive frameworks, and mindfulness approaches. He works inclusively with adults, seniors, and elders from all walks of life, all genders, sexual orientations, cultures and spiritual backgrounds.
