Meet Teresa Dodge

Teresa is a practicum student dedicated to supporting people as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions and discover their own strengths and path forward. With 14 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and nearly two decades in a correctional setting, she has supported individuals facing complex mental and physical health concerns, substance use challenges and significant barriers. These experiences have deepened her understanding of resilience, burnout, and the unique pressures faced by both clients and helping professionals in these environments, shaping her commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and compassionate space for others.
Teresa has worked with diverse populations, including families and children with special needs, individuals navigating major life changes, those experiencing workplace critical incidents, and those exploring new ways to cope. Her own experiences of grief and loss, adjusting after working overseas, and working within challenging systems have further shaped her appreciation for compassion, connection and the importance of feeling truly seen. As a former competitive athlete, she also brings a strong belief in perseverance and trusting oneself.
Her approach to counselling is holistic, person-centred and strengths-focused. She views counselling as a collaborative process, creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients can explore difficult emotions, reconnect with themselves and move toward healing at a pace that feels right for them.
Teresa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and is currently completing her Master of Counselling through the University of Lethbridge. Outside of counselling, Teresa enjoys travelling, exploring different cultures and foods, hiking, attending concerts and expressing her creativity through pottery. She appreciates the mindfulness and joy that come from creating—and the reminder that, much like life, pottery doesn’t always go as planned, and that’s often where the best discoveries happen.

Booking FAQs

Is direct billing available through Teresa Dodge with my insurance, or what’s the payment process like?

Yes — direct billing is available for clients whose insurance providers support it through TELUS eClaims. We work with a wide range of insurers including Manulife, Canada Life, Desjardins, Blue Cross, and many others. If direct billing isn’t available through your plan, payment can be made via credit card, e-transfer, or PayPal after each session.

Once payment is completed, we’ll email you a PDF receipt with all the details needed for reimbursement — such as the therapist’s name, designation, license number, and address — which you can submit to your insurance provider.

You’re the best judge of who feels like the right fit. If something about a therapist resonates with you or feels right, trust your instincts. A great next step is to book a free consultation with one of our intake coordinators to explore your needs and see if Teresa Dodge might be a good match.
