Meet Sabrina Wang

Sabrina was born in China and moved to Vancouver, BC, with her family at the age of 10. Before entering the field of counselling, she spent 12 years working as a human resources professional and earned her Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.

Throughout her career in HR, Sabrina always felt drawn toward psychology, meaningful human connection, and helping others navigate life’s challenges. She found that the most rewarding parts of her work were building trusting relationships, supporting employees through difficult moments, and advocating for their health and well-being. Recognizing that these were the aspects of her career that brought her the greatest sense of purpose, she decided to pursue her long-held passion and transition into counselling.

Sabrina’s approach to counselling is influenced by her own journey of growing up juggling two very different cultures and finding her way back to health from serious illness. Sabrina was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 19 and underwent a bone-marrow transplant via an unrelated donor at the age of 21. Sabrina’s lived experiences with cancer and other chronic health conditions allow her to deeply appreciate the power of mind-body-spirit connection, which lies at the root of her holistic, person-centred, and trauma-informed approach to counselling.

Sabrina supports people navigating transitions, overwhelm, relationship challenges, health challenges, work-related stress, and other issues inevitable in the ebbs and flows of life. She uses a variety of theories and frameworks in her practice, which include Emotion-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused Therapy, Existentialism, Narrative, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Somatic modalities.

Booking FAQs

Is direct billing available through Sabrina Wang with my insurance, or what’s the payment process like?

Yes — direct billing is available for clients whose insurance providers support it through TELUS eClaims. We work with a wide range of insurers including Manulife, Canada Life, Desjardins, Blue Cross, and many others. If direct billing isn’t available through your plan, payment can be made via credit card, e-transfer, or PayPal after each session.

Once payment is completed, we’ll email you a PDF receipt with all the details needed for reimbursement — such as the therapist’s name, designation, license number, and address — which you can submit to your insurance provider.

You’re the best judge of who feels like the right fit. If something about a therapist resonates with you or feels right, trust your instincts. A great next step is to book a free consultation with one of our intake coordinators to explore your needs and see if Sabrina Wang might be a good match.
