Farooque believes in a compassionate and collaborative approach while creating a safe
space for clients to express themselves freely. Drawing from a range of evidence-based
theories, he tailors his approach to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. With
cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), he focusses on the connection between thoughts, emotions and behaviours. He supports clients in identify unhelpful thought patterns, developing greater awareness of how these patterns influence their emotional experiences, and building practical strategies to foster more balanced thinking and
adaptive coping.

With Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), he focuses on emotional experiences and
attachment needs, helping couples deepen connection, improve communication, and
shift relational patterns. He works with the couples to explore the deeper emotional
patterns, and attachment needs to focus on strengthening emotional connection,
rebuilding trust and fostering healthier relationship patterns. And by integrating
mindfulness-based practices, he supports the clients with awareness of the here and now, emotional regulation and self-compassion.

Farooque takes a trauma-informed approach, prioritizing safety, choice, collaboration, and the awareness of the impact of past experiences. This translates into moving at a pace that the clients feel comfortable with, while creating a supportive environment
which promotes healing and meaningful change.
