My counselling approach begins with the belief that you are the expert of your own life. You already possess the knowledge to be your authentic self but it’s been hidden, perhaps due to stresses and traumas in your life, and you haven’t tapped into it yet. In helping clients overcome obstacles to life goals by helping them work through insecurity, loss, fear, resistance, guilt, resentment, victimization and self-pity.Effective therapy is transformational and transformation is possible, no matter where you start. My approach combines (evidence-based modalities) EMDR, Nervous system regulation, Neuroscience, and Trauma Informed Mindfulness based strategies. Trauma can disempower and disconnect us from self and surroundings; trauma-informed healing practices can ultimately give you your power back. Psychotherapy is not about bulldozing through the resistance – It is about gently working around and through the edges. My practice focuses on symptoms of Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, Chronic pain and Trauma (acute & accumulated).Freeing yourself from the symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma is not just about looking at your past and future, but it is also about being in your present.Every step is gentle.Living with disruptive painful feelings are difficult to say the least. We begin therapy with proven, practical steps to alleviate feelings of distress. We work together to understand how the stresses or trauma are affecting you now. We apply practices to lessen the symptoms in order to regain your emotional, physiological, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.

I have had 2 sessions so far, so I am still getting to know how I feel, but Lima is very kind, helps me to feel safe, and makes me and the things I am saying feel important. She is quick to respond to me outside of our sessions and gives me very helpful tools and practices to work on until out next session. I am very excited to continue these sessions and I feel a lot of hope working with Lima
